Everlasting
by Alyson Noël
I wanted to read the last book in the series because I've read all the previous books, even though I got tired of the story line. The beginning was really too mushy (?) if I can even say that. Then it began to get interesting, even if it was predictable. I did like what Alyson Noel did with her explaining and conveying the idea of Buddhism or Hinduism (whichever religion has the concept of reincarnation and nirvana). In the end, Ever realizes what it means to be truly immortal, which sets her to make the decisions she makes in the the last few chapters of the books. Now, on Damen. I honestly was annoyed with him throughout the last couple of chapters because I thought that he was selfish and in the end he only made the decision (that has to be made) for Ever and not for himself. Which I thought was stupid. He should have made the choice soley for himself because it was the right thing to do and not for someone else. But whatever...I guess it's because "he loves her." Which, I do see. Their love is eternal and has lasted that long because their souls are entwined and are meant to be together.
All in all, the book was a good read. Not my favorite, though. But overall good. I'm happy that the series is finally over!
