xennicole 's review for:
The Friend Zone
by Abby Jimenez
I enjoyed it till Chapter 31 one, and then the story went down tropes I don't like. One of the best friends dies, which forces the main characters to rethink their relationship. Then, the main female character who talks about not having children and about to get a hysterectomy is suddenly pregnant before the operation. The last part of the book was heavy-handed and felt out of place for the characters went against themselves. There wasn't a lot of growth of the characters with the lighting speed of change that was happening to them.
It was okay.
It's three stars because it does mention the Minnesotan classic song, ”The Wreck of Edmund Fitzgerald.”
