I should've read beyond Practical Magic meets Twister. That line absolutely drew me in, and I didn't think I needed to know anymore. However, had I read the synopsis, I'd have seen that this book has one of my least favorite tropes. Still when I realized that it was there, I stuck it out and hoped this book, with it's pretty writing, would change my mind.
It didn't.
The message around climate change is really important, and I'm happy to see it becoming a more prevalent topic in YA, but the MC was full and being stuck in her mind for 300+ pages was painful.
