Max is a short tempered, snarky, brilliant and funny archeologist who happens to come in a fun size package. Being short does lead to inventive ways for him to connect with Edison who is much taller than him. Edison is a big strong man with intelligence and is also a marshmallow.
Circumstances have these two very likeable characters coming into each other’s orbit and so begins an Egyptian adventure that includes some action, drama and romance. It also includes all of Edison’s fellow mercenaries and their partners in an effort to keep Max safe.
Max and Edison have an almost instant connection to each other and the chemistry between them gives way to plenty of heated moments in amongst the chaos. The road to their HEA is littered with hurdles to overcome, not so much on the romance side but from external pressures.

This is a very ending and enjoyable romantic suspense with an intriguing plot that captured me immediately. All elements of the story are perfectly balanced and I really loved, once again, the found family theme - especially in comparison the early childhood Max had. I’m very much looking forward to West and his story being told next.
