This was a unique graphic novel in terms of subject and style. Coming Back is set in a magical world descended from seeds in which citizens can learn shifting or shaping magic.
Much of the novel is told through illustrations alone, many pages have no exposition. Sometimes I like this style but I found it confusing and hard to read in this case. I think if you like that style and prefer to make your own inferences while reading, this may be a better fit for you than it was for me.
