Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. The world that Akwaeke Emezi built wrapped me in a daydream as I find myself affirmed in this narrative. I have no idea what to write apart from the fact that I wished the writer ended it by narrating how the care would have looked like to a traumatized person in the book's reality. It would have been very interesting to see what that would have looked like.
All in all, I really do enjoy the writer's style of writing. The pacing was great and the world-building was a little "telling" but I do not mind that at all for the effect that it brings to the story.
