The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones
4.0

I don't think I have ever read a horror book and there's definitely a reason for that, I don't think they're for me. That being said, I still enjoyed this book since it wasn't "scary." I loved the Native American aspect of it. I just finished reading There, There and The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian recently so this seemed like an interesting different direction to go.

I'm terrible about reading descriptions before starting a book (hence why I was surprised that this was horror) so for awhile, I couldn't decide if indeed it was "an entity bent on revenge" or Lewis was going crazy. I got my answer. Because I'm not a horror fan, my favorite parts of the book were more along the lines of the accurate portrayals of life on the Reservation (spoiler, it's not all peachy) and the ostracism that comes from leaving and marrying outside of it.

If you are a horror/thriller fan, I'm sure you will love this book.
