Pete the Cat is one of my all-time favorite book characters. His confident, sometimes overconfident, ideas that leads to adventure remind me of my family's snarky black cat, Etna. In this book, Pete is more in the background after baking a bunch of cupcakes that go missing. This childrens take on sleuthing is fun and enjoyable for kids.
