I could not put this book down! I am not familiar with Hindu mythology really at all and I was a bit intimidated by this book, worried I couldn't follow it. But Patel makes it extremely accessible, while beautifully telling the story of Kaikeyi. An ohmage to horse girls, asexuals, and mothers, Kaikeyi is a woman of great strength. She's relatable and powerful and while flawed, I don't think I would have done much different than her if given her life. I love love loved this book and want to force all my customers to read it!
