sunshinecapturer 's review for:
Red, White & Royal Blue
by Casey McQuiston
Plot or Character Driven:
A mix
Strong character development:
Yes
Loveable characters:
Yes
Diverse cast of characters:
Yes
Things I loved:
- the romance!! Enemies to friends to lovers is always top tier, and the progression of Alex's and Henry's relationship was well paced and felt very real
- the queerness! I adore how Alex's bisexuality is shown through how he perceives the people around him
- the character growth! Alex went through a lot of character development, but he was still very clearly him
Things I didn't like so much:
- the politics. I know the plot hinges on politics, but there were times where it felt like too much page space was devoted to them.
all in all a very enjoyable read that made me cry and feel things and love us queer people and our love stories even more
