Without a doubt one of the best essay collections that I have ever read, if not the best. Elliot writes with a clarity that I adore, but the structures of her essays are complex and dexterous. Watching then unfold is a privilege, and while you may feel unsure of the connection between her ideas at the start, she manages to pull it all together in a way that is so cohesive you cannot possibly misunderstand her. I want to buy this for everyone I know.
