All the Missing Girls by Megan Miranda
4.0

This book has been on my to-read list since it was published and I am glad that it is my first sweet read of the year. It was a thrill ride, just like the ferris wheel on the front cover could be (to some, of course).

This is Miranda's first fiction book for adults, and the first book of hers that I have read. I could hardly put it down, the mystery was so capturing.
SPOILER ALERT
**During what I would consider the climax of the story, when Tyler, an on-again off again boyfriend of Nic shows up on her door step covered in dirt and seeming in a panic, exclaiming that "they found the body!", is a point where I actually questioned whether I could handle reading this book. Something about that part really grabbed me when I was reading and I thought the book might be too much of a thriller for me to handle.I took a deep breath, continued, and I'm now glad I did.**
It's a fast-paced read and it's written in a unique way where Miranda starts you at the beginning of the story, but after the plot's climax she jumps the storyline ahead 2 weeks and you work your way backwards from Day 14 to Day 2. I found reading a book written in this format a bit of an extra challenge because your mind has to work backwards to really follow the story. I think this helped make the book more entertaining to read personally.
