What an incredible book and I can not believe it’s the authors debut novel! The writing style is so captivating that I read this book in 1 day! The chapters are short (which I love) and brought us to different time periods (that a few times were confusing) but left me wanting to know the ending!!

After seeing the Uplitreads campaign for this book and watching the interview with the author, I knew I’d really enjoy this historical fiction book!⁣

This book is historical fiction although Robert Smalls was a real person and I was fascinated with his life and how brave he was!! ⁣

I can’t wait to read whatever Rebecca Dwight Bruff writes next
