What an amazing, haunting book! I had to stop myself from comparing it to Kubrick's film so much after the first 50 pages or so. Literally... like... nothing is the same other than the fact there is a family who watches over a hotel in the offseason and a black cook and some random things happening in room 217. The book, though, went so much more into "the shine" than Kubrick did and I loved that! I never even knew why it was called The Shining until a few years ago, even. But after reading the book, it was pretty damn obvious! I love how strong Wendy was in the book. I love how smart Danny was portrayed in the book, too. So many good feels from this one (scary, chilling, murdery, feels... but still good!)
