This is a bit more world building and emotional impact than I expected.

With the main idea of the story out of the way we go deeper into why these spirits are dead. I mean his new sword, which is a 14 year old boy, is dead already to be used as a weapon. But why? how did he die? We get clues and we see what happens here after people die and why they turn into these monsters. We also get another god on site. This one, with a big fucking lion as her weapon, want revenge.

This is actually a pretty well written series. While this volume didn't impress me as much as the first I really enjoyed the comedy and emotional bits here. The humor is funny, and there's some great lolz moments. I also think it helps the characters act pretty normal and their dialogue is pretty solid. While I think the actual plot seems to be missing here some, it was a nice overall build up to character development and world building.

Overall a 3.5 but I'll bump it to a 4.
