Fireworks by Sarina Bowen
4.0

ARC received for an honest review.

Like Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally... yes, yes ,YES we are back in Vermont and the Shipley family.

My heart filled with fireworks when I heard that we were getting Benito's story. I have been wanting to learn more about him since Zara's story.

And Ms Bowen has not disappointed. In face, this story was so much more.

Second chances are one of my favourite romance tropes, and Skye and Benito are finally getting their second chance, a decade down the track.

Though it did make me wonder, why if they were both so in love with each other and hot for each other, that neither of them looked for the other in all that passing time? But this could just be me.

Neither Benny or Skye had it easy in childhood - can I just say that Skye's mum is a horrible piece of work, and I despised her with every cell in my body.

I liked the way our lovelies reunited - I don't want to spoil anything except to say you will probably laugh at how Skye ends up back in Vermont.

There is drama galore in this story, however it didn't feel OTT. I did, however, feel that some of this drama did get dragged out a bit, and it made the middle of the book sluggish.

It was great to get little snippets of the Shipleys and others from the True North series. Just enough to keep me up to date.

However, now I need whatever Ms Bowen is bringing us next. I don't like to wait!
