The Good
The world-building in this story was very interesting. It combined a unique magical world with the typical historical fiction society well. I love Mr. Bennet slander I'm sorry. He doesn't get enough shit for his behavior a lot and this version holds him accountable.

The Bad
I didn't like Darcy's characterization in the beginning. It was probably accurate but I don't like him. Also in the beginning I hate that in each situation where Elizabeth rightly tells Darcy how his or the mages as a whole have negatively affected her she is made to feel guilty afterwards. I felt overwhelmed with the amount of characters and interpersonal relationships being involved. (Especially since there were so many original characters not from the original book.) I wanted the story to be more focused on the main fae plot and development of Darcy and Elizabeth's relationship and instead it felt all over the place.

The Rating
I give this book 3/5
