Agreed with others that the beginning is slow, and the novel is very Eurocentric which is more than just a shame when it expands over 300 years of atrocities. There was also no real growth from Addie, which is kind of confusing - though I don’t know if this was on purpose because of her curse (and not being able to grow and mature), or simply because it wasn’t the focus and got lost in the drafting.
