I feel so conflicted. I didn’t put *the plot thing* together completely and that was partially a surprise. I really liked one thread of the story but not the others. The writing is really compelling but I didn’t adore the world building either. 4*s because I did enjoy and care and I love a bit of wholesome queerness in among the sadness. Interested to see what Book Two is about.
