Solid 4 stars! I almost DNF’d Magpie because the first 20% felt slow and hard to get into, but I’m so glad I stuck with it! Once the story picked up, I couldn’t put it down. It gave off serious Freida McFadden vibes and kept me guessing right up until the final pages. The writing wasn’t exceptional, but the plot twists and pacing in the second half more than made up for it. Worth pushing through the slow start!
