"This is what it's like, he tells himself. Notice this Notice everything. Remember it."

From page one, we know that Lydia is dead. The favorite of parents who want more for her that what life had granted them, Lydia says yes, yes, yes to everything they want, until one day she can't say anything anymore. The characters take center stage in this tale of loss and grief.

Everything I Never Told You is ultimately a book that I wish I could read again for the first time. Ng captures what it means to grieve and how secrets and stories that are left untold can tear families apart. This book paints the picture of parents who want what they think is best for their children and how those who we have the most important thing in common with, our siblings, may also be the ones with which we share the least in common.

I truly believe that everyone should experience the beauty of the prose Ng's work. Everything I Never Told You breaks your heart and puts it together again in such a short amount of time.
