I really wanted to like this book because the premise is so fun, emotional, and real, but this felt like too far of a stretch jumping from YA to adult fiction. Unfortunately, it fell flat for me, almost as if it were still in the drafting stage. I think Reyes relied too heavily on too many tropes and the pacing was very choppy. 

However, Han’s queer awakening and Kenny’s experience with abuse are very real and well thought out.
