Have tissues ready. I supposed I don't really need to say that, but seriously.

I found this to be touching and horrifying all at the same time. I liked how easily Bruno made friends with Schuel, how it didn't matter to him what Schuel looked like or what he wore, only that he was nice and the same age and they liked each other.

It really made me think too...how many people just didn't realize what was going on, because of their age or because they chose to ignore the signs. It's sad. The most powerful part, to me, was the final line of the book...it really shook me.
