What We See When We Read by Peter Mendelsund

Not quite what I expected when I picked it up - this was more of a personal essay on what tumbles through the mind and what is envisioned while reading than heavy research into the topic.

If you are looking for research into what is visualized while someone is listening to an audio-book or turning pages this misses the mark. If you are looking for the kind of discussion you would get on "What do you see when you read?" over drinks then this book is what you're looking for.

I did greatly enjoy the book, and it was a visual feast with some philosophical turns to it. Highly recommend if you enjoy personal essays or books about books!
