I actually really enjoyed this title. The story was weird and the writing was advanced (I learned a lot of new words while working my way through this one), but for some reason, it worked. Kidd manages to embrace a wide span of genres including historical fiction, fantasy, and mystery with her book, which I found to be exciting. I had no idea what was going to happen next with the plot and was eager to keep reading. With all that being said, this story is very slow-paced and probably will not be a hit for everyone for that reason. However, I would be willing to read more of this author's work, as I thought this book was great.
