I liked this book.
It wasn't the best, but it certainly wasn't the worst, either.
I stayed up late to finish this book, but that wasn't because I was desperate to know what happened or was absolutely enthralled with the storyline. I stayed up late to finish it simply because I wanted to finish it, and I felt like I had already spent too long reading it.
I think the best part of the Gallagher Girls was the lighthearted, funny part. And I feel that Ally Carter started to try to distance herself from that part of the story and tried to make it more serious, and it simply didn't work.
Any action scenes were only mentioned. As I read it, I felt as though the scene took place within 5 seconds. Maybe they did in reality, however I felt like I didn't get any of the feeling of the action and the suspense. At the end of one such scene, Cammje mentions her hair was matted and stuck to her head, and she was covered in blood. Well, to me that sounded entirely wrong because the scene itself was about half a page long.
Nevertheless, I did like this book.
