While this technically was a satisfying ending to the story because we get follow up on most of the characters, I wish that we had gotten an epilogue that was "five years later" just to see what everyone was up to or at least I wish we could have seen that final Sun Rites instead of it ending the night before it occurred.
I will say that I liked howSessadon's story ended because I hated her and was tired of her. I also felt that ending like this made her character 'resurrection'' for lack of a better term pointless. It in turn made half of the book pointless because we spend so much time with her in The Underlands plotting on how she'll get back just for it to never happen. Honestly I think I would have enjoyed it more if that part had been cut and the timeline Above had been further accelerated. I want to know how Amankha planned to relinquish her throne and to whom, how she got back to her child. We never got answers for the prophecy that Beyda uncovered or saw her return to Arca. Ultimately it kind of felt unfinished. At one point I realized I was 94% in and wondered how that was possible when we still had so much to do
