inspiring lighthearted reflective

I really loved this book. It wasn’t just inspiring, it actually made me stop and think about life a little differently. Jonathan felt real, not overly polished or overly wise, just a regular guy who got caught up in work and ambition, like so many people do. And that’s what made this book great, how easy it is to think you’re chasing your dreams when you’re actually stuck in a system.

The talisman journey honestly felt like a wake-up call; not just for him, but for me too. Each letter had something in it that made me pause and reflect. And while the lessons were powerful, they didn’t feel preachy. They just made sense in a way.

But I won’t lie, I was really stressed for him at one point. Around chapter 10, I was ready to shout, don’t ruin your life, your perfect family, your job for this absurd Tessa situation! Anissa was literally there, present, loving, and ready to give him a chance again, yet he was really about to lose all of that? For an infatuation? So imagine my relief when he finally snapped out of it! Like finally, some common sense!!!

I really liked how it ended. When it all came together, I just knew it. I had a feeling the whole time that this was really about saving him from his own self, but still, it hit in the best way. Julien and his mum really outdid themselves. I don’t think we realize how much of a gift it is to give someone or to be given another  actual shot at a better life. W thank God for hands on family members.

Overall I liked this book. It’s one of those books that leaves you feeling like you’ve also somewhat quietly changed a little by the end. I would recommend this book for sure.
