4.5 rounded up just because I love how fun this series is in general. This would have been 5 stars for me, but the unnecessary romantic drama in the last third of the book tampered a little of my enjoyment. I can see how it was needed for setting up the plot of the third book, but it still felt like the miscommunication trope I have never been fond of.
The mystery was awesome though and while I started off annoyed by Lee for more or less not being Alex, I grew to deeply enjoy his character and found him to be a great balance for Saffron over all. I really hope to continue to see more of him through the next two books.
