Live Forever by Raúl Treviño

Live Forever is a webtoon that you can read online completely free, and that surprised me because this is pretty great.

Sarah loses her mother in this story very quickly. She can't really come to terms with death. It's scary and something she never wants to go through. So she visits her neighbor Samuel to find out if he's a vampire and to get his blood for immortality. What sounds simple turns into a complex theme story of love, loss, death, and acceptances. By the end of this 53 chapter story I was kind of shocked how many different turns and genres we went through to get to the end.

What worked so well was the theme of loss and death. It's never ever easy to talk about. I hate death, it scares me, and anytime I'm sick or going to the doctors I get worried. Because there's so little time in life and we all want more, so listening to Sarah and what she's been through and going through is great because you can relate.

It also helps the rest of the characters are well done and interesting. Mixing genres might not work for some but hitting some big supernatural moments made me intrigued to keep reading. I also really enjoyed the art work, the mix of black, white, and red colors is an amazing idea and really shines.

I will say some of the dialogue can be a bit on the nose. Like we got the themes or idea but then it is spelled out for us. But saying that the author was going through a tough time in life and I understand this was a book that made her get through it.

Overall, this is pretty great, free or not. Well worth checking out. A 4 out of 5.
