I have a few thoughts:
-Solely read this by audiobook which I think helped not slow down the story because I couldn't take the time to search French phrases or linger on Corsica's political hierarchy. In doing so I was able to just take it as it came and did enjoy the underlying political situation.
-I say underlying because Severigne really makes it all about her. This is truly an almost comical take on an entitled rich girl bored and needing an adventurous summer with someone who *almost* clichely teaches her how the other side lives.
-Maybe she had Stockholm Syndrome, but I feel like her entitlement and never feeling she would truly be harmed overrode the possibility.
-Lets be real, she did it only for the boy. She can pretend she loves the cause but it only went so far.
-Give a moment for Tittu and Petru, the true heros of la révolution
