This book surprised the hell out of me! It reminded me why I liked this series in the first place. I needed that. I swear after the last book I considered just being done with this series, but I'm so glad I gave it another chance. Destined for an Early Grave had everything I had been missing from this series since the first book, and much more!

I loved what I got from all the characters in this book! I had been starting to think for awhile now that Bones was not the strong badass I remembered from the fist book. Well I guess he has always been strong and what not, but the past few books I felt like he took a lot of shit from Cat, and his blinding all consuming love for her kind of softened him up. And I'm sorry but Bones is someone I don't want being all passive, even if its with Cat. Well this book gave me what I had been missing for awhile, Bones exactly how I wanted him. He still had overwhelming love for Cat, but he seemed more himself. He was jealous, angry and fearsome, and I felt like he finally stopped coddling Cat. Thank god. And Cat was better for it. Cat was her usual snarky self, which always amuses me. I also loved this blossoming friendship between Cat and Vlad. Oh Vald, why are you so awesome?! Seriously I couldn't get enough if him in this book. Even the new ghostly addition to this group was a nice development.

I really enjoyed pretty much everything going on in this book. The humor was back with a kick, I laughed quite a few times. The story line kept me interested and, as I said before, the characters really did it for me. This book has officially renewed my love for this series, and I will be continuing on with the next book because of it. I just hope that the things I love continue to shine through in the following books.
