If you haven’t read Absinthe of the Heart, go read it now to see the start to Holland and London’s story. I have been waiting for this book since finishing Absinthe of the Heart and it did not disappoint. It was one angsty, emotional roller coaster that I didn’t want to end.

Holland and London’s story is similar to that of Romeo and Juliet, but maybe a little less tragic. From the first word to the very last the book had me hooked! These two have had to experience a lot because of the actions of their parents. Life hasn’t been easy for them, but they have grown up, they have managed to find love and protect each other.

I love everything about their relationship. The connection between Holland and London is incredible. Their families hate each other, but they couldn’t help but fall in love with each other from the very first moment they met. London’s love for Holland is fierce. The way he cares for her, they way he protects her from his family. He’s just so swoon-worthy. How can you not fall in love with a man like him?!? And our sweet Holland, she is fierce, she strong and she is one badass lawyer. As much as I love London, I love Holland just as much.

There hasn’t been a book by Monica James I didn’t love, but this duet may be one of my favorites! Just like Romeo and Juliet, the story of London and Holland is something that will stay with you forever.
