The Farm
by Joanne Ramos
I really wanted to love this book. Even after I saw it was endorsed by the author of the worlds worst dystopian fiction (Vox) I still wanted to love this. And I just didn’t. I enjoyed it more than Vox (not hard) but I have the same problems over again. The plot doesn’t really go anywhere, it kind of dribbles along with no end. It builds up and builds up for a little while and then... nothing. The characters show little to no development, they don’t grow or change with time. There is so much nothing in this book that I can’t even tell you what happens. I can tell you what it’s about, but I can’t tell you what HAPPENS. Because nothing happens. The writing is... ok. At least it’s not rushed and badly edited like Vox is 🤷🏻♀️
