From the prologue, I thought I would love this book. The language is exquisite in its intricacy, and I love the fairy tale mood. Unfortunately, the majority of the book is not like that. Interesting characters turn dull, plots are introduced but never resolved, and the main character is like...the biggest dick. Tana French is clearly a very talented writer, but I ended up frustrated by this book rather than really loving it as I had hoped to.
