It took me 7 months and 2 days to finish this. I kept picking it up and putting it down. Sighing at the slow-moving pace, both the novels and my own until I was more than halfway through. I am now realizing that for me, this book was meant to take me months to read. I understand now that it needed to resonate with me. I needed to go on the journey with Cheryl as she realized why she was even on the PCT. And now I get it. I love the slow burning way she touches upon self discovery, especially at this particular point in my life when I'm feeling as lost as I've ever felt. At least I know hope isn't lost.

I got goosebumps and a sudden rush of satisfaction upon reading the last line and closing "Wild."

Here's to Cheryl, Queen of the PCT.

I hope I get to see at least a small part of the PCT someday. And I hope I'm wild enough to let my life be.
