I’ve been excited to try Kristen Callihan for awhile, so when I saw some of her audiobooks were on KU I snatched this book up. I’m unfortunately, a little disappointed. I didn’t really find anything wrong with this book. I even thought Emma and Lucian had a lot of chemistry. I also really enjoyed the chronic migraine rep in here. As someone diagnosed with chronic migraines, I felt very seen with the representation, and I loved how Emma was caretaking Lucian during his migraines.

But for some reason, besides the few things I enjoyed, I just found myself bored listening to this. I really had to make myself finish it. I think this is definitely a very “low-stakes, sweet” type of romance, and I just needed more meat in this book to fully enjoy it. I do want to try more from this author, as I thought the writing was decent, but I just don’t think this one was for me.
