I definitely wasn’t as crazy about this one as the first one. I had a lot of issues with the sexism. I understand that this is supposed to be a new world based upon old world Christian values, but it still bugs me a lot.

I also had issues with how many people were just so complacent with their living situation, with how even the gods barely knew how to protect themselves. It was really frustrating hearing that.

My other big issue was the repetition. I swear, 50% of this book was just a rehashing and retailing of the first book. There really wasn’t much point in the whole book, other than the two main characters falling in love and a bit of a love triangle thing going on that was boring.

That being said, I do want to see how the end of this trilogy comes out, and I already have a hold for the next book. We are like 3 1/2 stars.
