Last Duke Standing
by Julia London
4.5*upped to 5
I think we are back in the world of A Royal Wedding series, a world that could be the perfect setting for an operetta, something like The Merry Widow (I'm a fan of genre, highly recommended.
The book is written tongue in cheek and I had fun since the first pages as it made fun of what could have been a real introduction to a country history.
There were a lot of promises in those first pages and the plot maintains them and I thoroughly enjoyed it and had a lot of fun.
There's a sweet romance and I rooted for the characters, there's a historical background with plenty of rules especially if you are a lady belonging to royalty.
Julie London took all these ingredients and delivered a compelling and highly entertaining book.
Have fun in reading it, it's highly recommended.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
