So AMAZING!!! I don't know how anyone could have any other opinion on this play. Shaffer's writing is brilliant and the story itself is just so fascinating. There are so many themes at play in this work: power, religion, fathers and sons - I could go on and on forever. I read Amadeus and found so many similarities between it and Othello, one of my favorite plays ever written. Shaffer is just a brilliant writer and Amadeus is a great display of his talent.
