As entertaining as this was...this was also a very disturbing read for me.I don't call it that just because of the "eating disorder" thing but overall the toxic environment that our lead character "VAL" grew up in.
It is hard for me to judge this read because I can't put myself in Val's shoes... it's nerve racking to do so and even if I did I do not believe I would be able to comprehend what she was going through.Val's story is one that teaches us to make a stand for ourselves wherever we might be.We need to be able to voice out our fears, joys and grievances. It is a story that teaches us that having an unhealthy connection to food might not only be detrimental to our health but might also affect our relationships with all people around us.
I loved that Val had Jordan and her Aunt to always lean on.I loved that Val didn't destroy herself but instead looked for professional help.I LOVE THAT VICTORIA YING WROTE THIS BOOK♥️
