Inkredia - Luwan of Brida by Sarang Mahajan
4.0

Inkredia is one of those fantasy worlds which would pull you directly inside it without any warning. This is the first one in the series of four books. And it's the story of a boy named Luwan who is from a small village in Inkredia called as Brida. The people who inhabit there cannot step outside for any reason unless they want themselves to be killed. But this Luwan risks his life by not paying the tax and escaping Brida along with his sister named Meg. And they find themself getting attacked and surrounded by dark creatures which they have only read in books during their childhood days. It's like how we would feel if we are pushed into Hogwarts and actually fighting death eaters, dementors or Voldemort himself. That's when Luwan understands that they were being chased for not just refusing to pay tax but for some deadly reason he can't even think of. I really don't want to reveal more because it would spoil the fun.

Since it's the first book, the world building is not so elaborate and descriptive as one can expect it to be. But still who would not like to read about dark creatures like demons and stuffs like that. You will even find new types of creatures you haven't ever heard of. And I expected more action from Meg but I was disappointed and it kind of looked like gender biased. Also, I felt that it lacked character development. I couldn't connect with the characters as I wanted to be because we don't know much about them. But you can't blame because the whole thing is happening just in 2 days. I like those kind of books. So much can happen overnight kind of feel. And this book was totally plot driven and the ending was just mind blowing. Can I get a box of pizza for everytime I say how much I loved this book? :P
