We’re dropped into the drama of the Montagalo family, where two rules reign supreme: family first, and never, ever date your brother’s teammates. Naturally, Nova does both—and with delightful chaos. What begins as harmless flirtation on a dating app quickly spirals into a clandestine relationship with Luca Babineaux, the ever-so-charming (and unfairly good-looking) forward for the Houston Baddies. 

The chemistry between Luca and Nova crackles from their first exchange, filled with witty back-and-forth and heart-fluttering tension. Sara Ney nails the emotional tug-of-war between doing what’s expected and following your heart, all while keeping things light-hearted and fun. There’s a realness to the way Nova wrestles with loyalty, fear, and desire—and her internal monologue is equal parts hilarious and relatable. 

Luca is a standout love interest: sweet, genuine, and the type of man who makes you want to break a few rules. He balances out Nova’s chaotic, anxious energy with calm confidence, making their romance feel grounded even as they sneak around behind her brother’s back.
