I really enjoyed this book about friendship and found family. It follows four friends who reconnect and return to the woods where twenty years ago, a friend went up a staircase and disappeared, and hope to find him. They end up going on an adventure through a house that shows them memories of murders, suicide, and abuse. The friendship between the characters is tender but also complicated, intense, and even during their worst moments they still show how much they care about each other. This is the first book I've read from Chuck Wendig and I'm definitely reading more of his books.
