Destroy Me
by Tahereh Mafi
Crap ... Started to like Warner.
At first I wasn't quite sure what to think about him, but things changed that a bit.
SPOILERS ....
In "Shatter Me" I really didn't like him at all - even thozgh I knew a lot of people loved him for some reason. But I just liked the Adam story more because you know ... Childhood ... Love .. Kind of a shared past ... Well, and I hated what Warner did to Juliette (forcing her to harm a child, kill a man in front of her eyes, making a soldier touch her ... )
BUT I DID ENJOY THE MAKING OUT SCENE (before and while she shot him)
In "Destroy Me" I was confused enough to not trust him. I was like "meh" he's too nice, has too much feelings, "shows" to much emotion - and all that just happened all of sudden. But that part where he talked about that Fletcher (?) soldier guy and him beating up his family and that THAT was the reason why Warner killed him made me - I have to admit - like him. Yes Like, not love. I started to love Warner's story when he started to read Juliette's diary/notebook and when he was in this simulation room, when he started to dream of her... Things like that ... And like him being nice to Delalieu ... god dammit he even tried coffee out. Like how can I not start to love him.
And then ... The end scene. Warner plays with a dog. Unbelievable. And one reason more to love him.
However, I'm still not shipping in the Warner team, but I kinda lost my determination into shipping Adam with Juliette. Of course Adam had a rough past, but Warner did obviously, too... I really have to get "Unravel Me" .. Just because I can't decide on which boat I am.
Well, nevertheless, Tahereh Mafi is an amazing author. I LOVE LOVE LOVE her writing style. And I trust that she made the right decision for Juliette and the whole story line.
DEFINETELY A MUST READ!
