Snow, Glass, Apples
by Neil Gaiman
Neil Gaiman's mastery of the English language and the stunning art of this short graphic novel combine to make a solid 4.5.
My only real issue with this is how short it was. Right after I finished I thought there was something dissatisfactory about the ending... but on reflection, I think it was really just that it ended too soon for me. This modern and twisted take on the snow-white fairytale is intriguing and adds something to the classic story that just revamps the intrigue it holds. To me, half the beauty of classic stories is in their various retellings and this one just speaks to that being a key aspect of fairytales that I love.
