Moon Knight, Vol. 1: The Midnight Mission
by Jed Mackay
Really love the idea of Moon Knight setting up a religious center in the city to provide relief and teach about Khonshu. There’s a lot of great character work here too as Marc starts his Avengers-mandated therapy and works on his self worth apart from being Khonshu’s mouth piece.
The plot is exciting too though. Marc struggles to keep his neighborhood safe and someone *finally* follows up on the plot thread Ellis left behind in his run that Marc is not the only disciple of Khonshu. It expands the cast organically and develops some really interesting new characters who have their own spiritual struggles that contrast Marc’s journey with religion quite nicely. I genuinely think this is the start of the next big Moon Knight run and I can’t wait to see where the writer takes this next!
