I really loved the first probably half of this book and just liked the last half. I like the world building and I like the characters, although it seems strange that there are entire people who are important to the story but who we know almost nothing about. It's a great set up but it's also very long and the ending leaves lots of threads dangling. I know it is a series but there's just so much that didn't tie up and in a book as long as this one I had hoped to get a few more things cleared up. It's also very focused on "men and women" and on the one hand I love the struggle for equality, on the other hand we don't really know what it's like to be a trans/non-binary person in this world. It just sure is a lot with a lot still left unfinished.
