bookasaurusbex 's review for:
Housewoman
by Kelsey Ray Banerjee
This collection of poetry describing femininity, societal expectations and the role of women totally exceeded my expectations.
The poetry was punchy, vibrant and hard hitting, making me consider and check my privilege, think of strings that connect me to the poet and also reflect on my own experenxe.
My favourite thing about this poem was the aloof criticism and segments taken from the writer's past presented to the reader for a modern reader's immersion.
I would thoroughly recommend picking this up and exploring it for at least two or three reads - I promise you will get something different every time.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
