Max is a workaholic, but he loves his daughter, Everly, more than anything. Having the entire summer with her is great, but he also needs a nanny. When Cozy shows up for the nanny interview and is rather unconventional he isn’t impressed, but Everly is.
I loved Max. Even though a lot of his focus has been on his work, I love that throughout the course of the story he let down walls and realized that there is more to life than spending it at the office. Cozy has been through a lot, so I was curious to find out what happened in her past and lead her on the path of where she is now. It did take some time for me to warm up to Cozy, at the start of the book she just felt very immature, but as it continued and you learn about her past I started to warm up to her.
Max and Cozy definitely have chemistry. There is a time or two that is truly heating up the pages when it comes to them. There are also plenty of ups and downs when it comes to them as well. They want different things and Cozy isn’t into the whole corporate life that Max is living.
I love how well Everly and Cozy bonded. They had an instant connection from the start. They both helped each out so much throughout their time together. Everly may have needed a nanny, but the two of them need this time together.
If you’re looking for a single dad, opposites attract, forbidden, age gap, workplace romance check this one out.
